Price the certification around the system and its risk.
Clause5afe uses risk-based pricing rather than a one-size-fits-all audit fee. A certification quote begins with organization scale and then reflects the AI system, deployment, regulatory exposure, complexity, and evidence required for a defensible independent decision.
How a quote is scoped
The same company can have two very different certification engagements.
Certification is generally scoped per AI system unless a multi-system engagement is expressly defined. Revenue alone does not establish the price when the system risk, funding, deployment, or audit complexity tells a different story.
System risk
Sensitive use cases, high-consequence decisions, regulatory classification, affected populations, and the potential impact of failure influence certification scope.
Deployment scale
The number of users, markets, jurisdictions, environments, and decision contexts can materially change the evidence and evaluation effort required.
Technical complexity
Architecture, model dependencies, data flows, integrations, automation, third-party exposure, and system-change patterns influence the audit boundary.
Current entry programs
Different commercial paths. The certification standard stays intact.
Early Registration and the Pilot Certification Program change the commercial structure of an approved engagement. They do not change the evidence rigor or allow the client to purchase a different certification standard.
Early Registration is the current reservation program for organizations that secure certification capacity before standard delivery capacity is fully allocated. The program applies after normal scoping and does not stack with Pilot pricing unless an authorized written exception applies.
Discuss Early RegistrationPilot engagements are full certification engagements. Preferential pricing reflects deeper structured participation in process feedback and refinement, not reduced evidence rigor or a lower certification standard.
Pilot qualification, final pricing, feedback obligations, and any future credit are documented in the applicable Pilot agreement and SOW. Internal target ranges and approval controls are not public list prices.

Every Clause5afe certification fee includes the client's option to activate continuous monitoring for the certified AI system during the certification validity period at no additional charge. Activation is optional; choosing not to activate monitoring does not reduce the certification fee.

What the certification fee buys
A certification process, not consulting dressed as certification.
- Scoping, Forensic Audit, Finding Classification, and Certification Decision
- Detailed Findings Report with Critical, Major, and Minor classifications
- Board-ready certification summary
- Certification Mark issuance when the applicable certification criteria and issuance conditions are satisfied
- Continuous monitoring availability for the certified system throughout the certification validity period, with optional activation and no additional monitoring charge
- Remediation plans or implementation guidance
- Consulting, advisory, or certification-preparation services
- Vendor recommendations or tool-selection advice
- Pre-certification readiness assessments
- Legal opinions or guarantees of regulatory compliance
After the initial decision
Re-certification, re-assessment, and appeals are distinct processes.
Certification has a lifecycle. Later work is scoped according to the reason for the review, the age and reliability of the prior baseline, the current system, and the governing certification rules.
Re-certification
A renewed certification is separately scoped. The work benefits from an existing organizational baseline but still requires a current audit of the system and evidence applicable to the renewed validity period.
Re-assessment after findings
When a system does not achieve certification, the client selects and implements its own remediation. Clause5afe may later conduct a separately scoped re-assessment of the relevant findings and current system integrity.
Appeals
An eligible certification decision may be appealed under the Appeals Policy. The current appeal fee is $5,000 and is refunded when an appeal is upheld in full or in part, or procedurally dismissed for reasons unrelated to the merits.
Public pricing boundary
A website cannot responsibly quote a complex certification before scope exists.
The public site explains the pricing model and available programs. Final certification pricing belongs in the scoped proposal, SOW, and applicable master agreement because the system and evidence boundary determine the engagement.
